For the past months, I have dedicated my time to research Dutch Female Composers. This has resulted in curating three concerts at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, together with incredible colleagues who have dived into this unknown repertoire and are ready to perform. We start the concert series with works by the first Dutch Female Composers, Josina van Boetzelaer & Belle van Zuylen and we end with our most resent young composers Wilma Pistorius & Mathilde Wantenaar.
The year 2019 marks a special celebration in The Netherlands, that is 100 years since women could vote. Therefore, the first concert is dedicated to this celebration and we present the works that are written before 1919. At this point, I would kindly like for you to take part in this incredible journey to discover the works of Dutch Female Composers.
